Bold Gin Takes Gold at NYISC 2022

It’s awards season, so raise a glass to Lifted Spirits’ latest achievement– one of our flagship spirits, Bold Gin, was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2022 New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC.)

Founded in 2010, NYISC triumphs as one of the most esteemed annual spirit competitions. It awards spirits of several varieties including gin, whiskey, rum, vodka, and so on. There are awards across all spirit categories, some of which have subcategories such as flavored spirits and types. There are four different award distinctions: Double Gold, the highest (voted on unanimously by a particular panel), Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

Though there are numerous competitions within the industry, its unique panel of trade-only judges is what distinguishes NYISC. Every judge is an expert in their field and a key constituent in the industry. They include bar, restaurant and spirit store owners, mixologists, retail buyers, distributors and more. The mere exposure to these stakeholders is tremendous for engaging new market interest and raising brand awareness.

The expertise of the trade judges attribute to NYISC’s rigorous selection process, another defining element to the prestigious competition. In its 13th year, the competition received over 1,400 submissions from 39 countries. In the gin category, 25 winners were awarded Gold– and Bold Gin was one of them!

Bold Gin was Lifted’s second distillery creation, following the illuminated path of its sister spirit, Bright Gin. Bold’s exotic notes of dark berry, Ceylon cinnamon and timur peppercorn make it a complex yet endearing gin, one that’s agreeable with a bartender’s imagination. This award-winning gin is beautifully botanical and aromatic while not over-powering, thanks to its complementing notes of lavender, almond and rose hips.

Bold Gin has certainly held the Lifted limelight this awards season. Earlier this year, Bold was among Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Spirits of 2021, and received a 93-point rating from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
