Supernova Gin Scores Double Gold at NYISC
Sip, sip, hooray! Cheers to our second win from the 2022 New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC)– our newest flagship spirit, Supernova Navy Strength Gin, was awarded a Double Gold Medal.
The competition received over 1,400 submissions in its 13th year. There are awards for all spirit categories, with sub-categories for mixers, spirit types, liqueurs, and more. NYISC’s panel of esteemed trade-only judges, those of high rank and regard in the beverage industry, can award a spirit a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Double Gold medal.
Winners of a Double Gold medal are based on a unanimous vote by the panelists. Our Supernova Gin is one of the seven Double Gold medalists in the gin category. That means this gin is one stellar spirit!
We knew this overproof spirit could pack a punch, but it blew the competition out of the water. We took inspiration from historic navy strength classic gin made to protect gunpowder stored on ships. If the gin were to spill on the gunpowder, its high ABV% meant it could still be salvaged.
Now, one might assume the stronger the spirit, the worst the taste– and we’d happily prove them wrong. This handcrafted gin is distilled with eleven fresh botanicals including orange zest, hibiscus, and candied lemon, making it slightly sweet and smooth for sipping. Perfect in your classic gin and tonic, gin martini, or any cocktail creation.
